So as I sit here on the penultimate Sunday in August, So much is happening right now at Tabletop Towns.
We have opened a facebook shop - https://www.facebook.com/TabletopTowns/app_410312912374011
We are busy working on our next product launch -
The thinking behind these has always been in my mind....I wanted to do for terrain what Lego had done for toys....
To provide a construction system that means the result is only limited by the users imagination..
Great looking fold flat are now kinda taken for granted with my terrain, but I wanted much more I wanted people to be able to stack the units and have them be stable....any terrain where a simple jog of the table sends everything tumbling just seems silly...
So I decided to run a little trial of stacking units and that lead to the Cargo Containers, our third successfully funded Kickstarter. The response from backers has been overwhelmingly positive, people are delighted not just by the ease of use but the products strength too - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60bNnH-c7zg
A few people asked about making longer containers instead of the 20ft (scale) ones...my response was this - http://youtu.be/f4Vw5_OVtGo
Mortis Logan and I have been working hard deciding on several of the key criteria for the modular terrain we wanted to do....we have decided that a modern / SciFi setting is ideal for us to enter...
We have decided on a simple modular block which is 3"square and 2" high, and yes it has feet that help to look it to units below, and this "module" will form the backbone of the project, it will be available in several different artwork configurations, again our thinking here is to provide the user with the building blocks they need to construct towers, platforms, houses, military bases, and dozens of other things we have not even thought of...
If we can capture with this system just one thousandth part of the truly modular feel that Lego has we will be delighted, and will have succeeded in our goal!
One of the most interesting areas of this project is scale... In the past I have always focused just on 28mm to 35mm scale miniature play, but with this project we are looking to see how we might stretch outside that...
People have asked us for terrain on lots of different scales, such as 5mm, 6mm, 10mm, 15mm, 25mm, 28mm, 32mm, 35mm and even 54mm
I wish we could just offer support for them all, but we are working to find ways of making the modular system usable with as many as possible of these.

What are TableTop Towns?
Simply put, they are a set of practical, high quality, laminated, fold flat, cardboard buildings for use with any 28mm wargame/tabletop roleplaying system.
After many years of table top role-playing and dozens of self printed buildings used as props we really wanted a decent set of durable buildings that fold/stack away for easy storage and are almost infinitely reusable.
To ensure the highest standards of print, cardstock and quality control...
The card boxes that we sell are all printed by RCS Plc - here in the UK.
